Support us making a tax deductible donation or fundraising for Bairo Pite Clinic.

This small Clinic in Dili offers free care to poor and vulnerable people in Timor Leste.

Timor Leste  is only 450 km from Darwin.

Bairo Pite Clinic was started by Dr Dan Murphy, an Irish American Doctor, who arrived in 1998 and continues to work there every day of the year.

There are 55 in-patient beds, an extensive out-patient consulting service for approximately 200 people a day.

Over the past five years the Bairo Pite Clinic has achieved amazing things…

  • Treated 70,000 children, women and men as outpatients each year.
  • Cared for up to 2,000 inpatients every year.
  • Diagnosed and treated one third of all TB inflicted patients in Timor Leste.
  • Helped mothers and children survive child birth.
  • Ran a effective, HIV diagnosis, counselling and treatment program.
  • Our mobile clinics visited outlying communities offer essential health care to these people.

Bairo Pite Clinic is an official AFAP Action on Poverty partner and as Bairo Pite Clinic does not have DGR status in its own right, relies on AFAP’s DGR endorsed status by the ATO, therefore any donations to support the activities of Bairo Pite Clinic a must be made through AFAP in order to be tax deductible.  Whilst AFAP will endeavor to comply with the wishes of the donor, AFAP retains discretion at all times whether or not to distribute donated property in accordance with the preference expressed by the donor.  AFAP allows donations to be used only for benevolent activities.
