7th Annual (Virtual) CARE Walk




Register today for the Cancer Assistance Program's 7th Annual (Virtual) CARE Walk! Start or join a team, set a fundraising goal, and begin collecting pledges in support of individuals and families affected by cancer right here in our community.


This family friendly peer-to-peer fundraising event will take place on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we're going *VIRTUAL* once again where you can participate from anywhere at anytime - from your stairs or treadmill at home, to your local neighbourhood park or trail. New this year, we've launched a social media contest running throughout May, and a small-scale online silent auction with some great items to bid on - opens Sunday, May 23 at noon and closes Sunday, May 30 at noon.


Whether you choose to walk, hike, bike or roll 5km, we hope you will help us come together virtually in honour of a friend or loved one affected by cancer. Please consider registering yourself or a team and begin collecting pledges today. Who are you walking for?


Proceeds raised at this essential fundraising event ensure the Cancer Assistance Program is able to continue providing FREE practical supports to cancer patients and their families in our community during an especially challenging time. Your support will provide help when it is needed most.


If you're unable to participate, you can make a general donation to the event or search for existing participants and donate toward their goals. CAP does not receive sustainable government funding and relies greatly on funds raised from signature events like this - every dollar helps!


DATE: Saturday, May 29, 2021

LOCATION: Anywhere (from home or within your local neighbourhood)

5KM WALK, HIKE, BIKE or ROLL: Anytime (all day long on Sat. May 29, 2021)

COST: $20 per adult (under 18 are free)

INCLUDES: Fundraising webpage, social media toolkit (including participant bib and graphics) and chance to win contest prizes!

PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING: If you registered online between 2018-2020, you can sign in with that account. Otherwise, you will be required to set up a new account. Email addresses are required upon registration - if you are participating with young children who will not be registering online, please indicate how many during registration so we have an idea of total particpants.


We ask that all participants follow the public health measures, advice and restrictions in your area while taking part in this event. While we encourage online teams, please ensure you are adhering to social distancing restrictions in effect at all times.

  • We strongly encourage online donations during this time, however for those who still wish to collect offline pledges, download the PLEDGE FORM and we'll contact participants to make arrangements to drop off donations as needed.
