2019 Kulanu Global Teaching Fellows

Shadrach, the spiritual leader of Namutumba Jewish community in Uganda, volunteering in Nigeria.

Announcing the Kulanu Global Teaching Fellowship for 2019!

This summer we are sending four highly talented leaders and educators to different returning, isolated, and emerging Jewish communities around the world who seek to deepen their Jewish literacy.

These communities have few educational resources and are so excited to host and  learn from their volunteers for a month this summer. This year we are proud to two African rabbinical students teaching Africans for the first time.

Please meet the 2019 Kulanu Global Teaching Fellows and their communities below:

  • Shadrach Mugoya Levy from Uganda, Aleph Rabbinical Program (distance learning) taught in Nigeria

  • Natan Freller from Brazil, Ziegler Rabbinical School (Los Angeles, California), returned to teach in Brazil

  • Michal Kohane from the United States, Yeshivat Maharat (Bronx, New York), will teach in India

  • Amir Etele from Cameroon, Ohr Torah Stone Yeshiva (Efrat, Israel), will teach in Gabon

Your donation will help pay for educational materials, airfares, room and board, living expenses, and possibly modest stipends for the fellows.

Please DONATE today to make this program a success.

If you want to donate by check, please write Global Teaching Fellows in the memo field. Mail the check in US dollars payable to Kulanu to Kulanu Inc, 165 West End Ave 3R, New York, NY, 10023, USA. Please include your name, address, email, and phone with your donation. Let us know if we may add your name or initials to this fundraising page.

Kulanu has long-term relationships with all of the communities where our fellows will teach this summer. This ensures yearlong contact and support for the communities to thrive.
