Local Heroes
As we enter the fall hoping for a return to some semblance of normal life, challenges remain for many of our families.
That is why it was so gratifying to see CNN shining a spotlight on the work of a woman who is a hero to MHP.  When the COVID pandemic hit, Margaret Rodgers Norris, a teacher at Arcola Elementary in Silver Spring, quickly mobilized a network of friends, family, neighbors, and others to begin providing nearly 150 bags of food essentials to residents at MHP's Wheaton communities EVERY WEEK.
This massive effort continues to this day. We are so deeply grateful to Margaret and friends for their selflessness and commitment. In the interview (click here to watch), she offered wise words about efforts to help each other, noting that it does not always require a grand gesture. "We can do little things" that add up, she observed.
Thank you for all the things you do, large and small, to support MHP's commitment to housing people, empowering families, and strengthening neighborhoods.
With great gratitude,
Robert A. Goldman
MHP President
