December E-newsletter
Happy Holidays
We've come to the end of 2020 and we are truly grateful for the support that we have received throughout this year. Presenting our first online digital Festival in August was a huge amount of work and a lot of learning! Thank you to all of you who bought tickets, tuned into our daily videos and joined our daily quiz! Special thanks also to the truly wonderful musicians who performed for us. We are excited to be presenting a second online festival in the new year, so stay tuned for more on that later.
In the meantime, we are absolutely, positively looking forward to our 2021 Festival and presenting Kathryn's Stott's amended 30th Anniversary program Carnival. Opening night is Friday 23 July – so mark it in your diaries, and indeed why not come a few days or a week earlier and explore this magical part of Australia. The weather really is divine at that time of year (less so now as we swelter through the humidity of summer!!)
We will announce the new program in mid-February with tickets back on sale at that same time for AFCM Friends and on 1st March for everyone else.
We won’t be sending a physical copy of the booking brochure; however it will be available to download online. A smaller printed version can be sent to you upon request. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you, your families and friends peace and joy this holiday season.
Finally, we will close the Festival office for two weeks with Friday 18th December our last day before the Christmas break. We will re-open on Monday 4th January.
We look forward to a New Year with you all and a huge celebratory AFCM 2021.
Kind regards,
The AFCM Team.

Delight in Digital
As we wind down for the year, we wanted to remind you of the various digital offerings presented throughout 2020. This crazy Covid year allowed us to dive into something new and create a number of short videos for your enjoyment. So why not re-visit some of the magical moments of past festivals over the summer break, or hear again from some of our exceptional artists? We heard from Wu Man, Yumi Kurosawa and Mark Gaydon in our Artist Connections videos, we reminisced the 2019 Festival and the 2018 Festival in our Video Stories, plus delighted in the magic of North Queensland with several destination videos - all set to music performed by artists at AFCM. Plus don't forget the enjoyable Spotify playlist curated by our AD Kathryn Stott. Find all of these wonderfully entertaining videos here

Supporting the Festival
In 2021
That 2020 did not turn out the way any of us expected is an understatement. In a year that has challenged everybody, everywhere, we have experienced firsthand just how much support and friendship AFCM has generated and for that we are deeply grateful. From the bottom of our chamber music hearts we thank all of you who have so kindly and generously been supportive and understanding. Every donation and every encouraging or appreciative comment has been a vote of confidence. You have helped keep AFCM on its feet and looking to 2021 when we can celebrate again. We wish you a peaceful festive break and look forward to next year and better times. Sue Hackett Philanthropy Manager.
