Anti-Oppression Work at CADA
For over 40 years, CADA has supported and served victims of relationship abuse and sexual violence. We have also worked toward ending violence in our communities. At CADA, we believe that the systemic mistreatment of BIPOC individuals in our communities has gone on for far too long and must stop. Over the next several weeks and months, CADA is devoting time and resources to ensuring that all victims and survivors receive meaningful, equitable, and empowering services from CADA and that our workplace culture is one where all individuals are welcomed, celebrated, and liberated. 

As our society grapples with changing and rebuilding systems like the public safety system, healthcare systems, and economic systems, we too are committed to making big changes. Our first step is to form an accountability committee made up of advocacy and administrative staff who will guide our anti-racist efforts. Through this committee we anticipate identifying and addressing systemic racism that may exist in our structure at CADA. Ultimately, we will be making systemic and structural changes to our services and to our agency culture that will make us more accessible and rooted in the work of our communities.

We are committed to supporting survivors and violence free communities, and we know we need to do more to be an anti-oppressive and anti-racist organization.  We look forward to this challenging, and incredibly powerful journey.

Update on CADA's Services During COVID Crisis
We want to continue to update you on CADA's services as we continue to live and work through a global pandemic. 

Advocacy Services:
Advocates throughout CADA's nine-county service area continue to offer phone or video meetings with victims and survivors. If it is not safe to meet by phone, advocates can meet with individuals in person while practicing health and safety precautions. 

Shelter:

Shelter remains open to those seeking safety from violence and abuse. Advocates and residents are taking precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy. 


Keep Me Safe Supervised Parenting Time and Exchange Centers:
In-person Keep Me Safe supervised visits and exchanges have resumed. To schedule a visit or exchange, please contact us at 507-625-8688 ext. 115 or email kms@cadamn.org. 


Education and Groups:
CADA is offering virtual support groups rather than in-person groups for victims and survivors. The Southern MN Offender Education Groups remain temporarily cancelled until further notice. 
 
Want to serve on CADA's Board of Directors? 
CADA is seeking applicants for our Board of Directors!

If you are passionate about supporting survivors and violence free communities and want to be involved with CADA’s work, consider applying to serve on the board. 

We have several board members who will complete their terms in September. Board terms are two years with the option of being elected for three consecutive terms. Board meetings are held once a month (for 1.5 hours) with committees also meeting once a month.   

We are seeking board members with experience in nonprofit leadership, finance and accounting, development, and marketing. BIPOC and those with diverse life experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.

We are honored to have once again received grant funds from Otto Bremer Trust. This year, CADA received $105,000 to further our mission of providing safety and support to victims of domestic and sexual violence through education, advocacy, and shelter.
