Chucks Run 2019
Vancouver Dystonia Symposium November 2, 2019  
 
Join the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation (DMRF) Canada, and the Vancouver Dystonia Support Group for a full day symposium that will be focused on how you can live well with dystonia.. This FREE event will include seminars and information sessions for dystonia patients, caregivers, and allied health professionals.

Join Us for the Manitoba Dystonia Information Session  
 
The Manitoba Dystonia Support Group is organizing a very special Information session open to the public. 
Special guests include Dr. Hobson of the Movement Disorder Clinic, in Winnipeg, who will speak about the medical management of dystonia symptoms. DMRF Canada Executive Director Stefanie Ince will be providing news from the Foundation, details on support materials available for patients and loved ones, and updates on the latest research funded by the Foundation.

Jackson Mooney Patient Grant Recipients 
 
The Jackson Mooney Dystonia Patient Grant was established to provide financial assistance of up to $5,000.00 for Canadian residents who are living with dystonia, in financial need and committed to enhancing their current situation through furthering their education. 
 
This year, the grant committee was pleased to announce funding for education to two worthy candidates: Hannah Schell (from Halifax, NS) and Kaylee Row (from Beaumont, AB).  Congratulations to these recipients with our sincere thanks to our grant sponsor. Click here to learn more about this year’s award recipients.

The Promise and Progress Report  provides details on some of the outstanding dystonia research developments that are currently underway, thanks to the support of our generous partners and donors.
 
 
 Dystonia Community Mourns the Loss of Grace Medland
 
DMRF Canada was saddened to hear about the passing of one of the Toronto Support Group’s members, and long time dystonia advocate and supporter, Grace Medland, after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial donations in honor of Grace can be made to Guide Dogs Canada or DMRF Canada. Please click here to view the obituary and send a condolence message. On behalf of the DMRF Toronto Support Group, and the staff at volunteers and DMRF Canada, we offer Grace’s family our deepest condolences.
 
 
DMRF Call for Applications: Basic and Clinical Aspects of Dystonia 
 
The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation is pleased to announce a Call for Applications for research proposals on Clinical and Basic Aspects of Dystonia.
Letters of Intent are due by end of day on Monday, September 9.
