Thursday was a very exciting day for FAMILYConnections.
Governor Christie visited our FAMILYConnections site in Paterson to announce the expansion of the Department of Children and Families' (DCF) permanent supportive housing program known as Keeping Families Together.
The Governor led a Roundtable discussion involving myself and 3 families who have benefited from FAMILYConnections' HomeSafe program. HomeSafe is a supportive housing program that has served as a successful pilot for the state program. The program is designed to help child welfare involved families be safely, healthfully, and permanently reunified/stabilized in their own homes.
I was inspired to hear each family's story and how HomeSafe has transformed their lives. This is because of the tremendous work and dedication of our HomeSafe Team!
