"I am a graduate of DREAMS and I am a survivor of domestic violence."
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to remind people that domestic violence affects individuals in every community regardless of age, economic status, race, religion, nationality or educational background.
Each year at this time, FAMILYConnections' DREAMS of Essex, pays homage to domestic violence survivors and allies by creating an awareness campaign to bring attention to an issue which impacts one in every four women in the United States.
Last year, DREAMS created an exciting social media campaign - #itscalledatanktop. This year, DREAMS invites you to take the #DREAMSPledge of non-violence and to share this message with family and friends through social media.
Here is the link to the PLEDGE.
DREAMS of Essex has been rebuilding lives after domestic violence since 2008. This program of creative arts therapies and support services for children and their parents who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence, is known for its high parental involvement and family work, bilingual staff, responsiveness to referral sources and use of creative arts.
It is also a program that works.
This email starts with moving words from a client of DREAMS. Learn how DREAMS and FAMILYConnections gave her hope and a second chance for a better life RIGHT HERE. This is only one of many stories of hope that we can share.
Given the events of this week, please share this message of non-violence. Join us and take the #DREAMSPledge.
