What a joy it was to be a part of the 2014 High Ridge House Annual Meeting! It was a day with perfect early-fall weather; a standing-room only crowd in both the White Plains church and next-door Reading Room; an energetic and inspiring talk on Healing Journeys by Lona Ingwerson, CS; and a feeling that something really special was taking place. Lona shared many wonderful ideas and healing stories with us and then summed them up with this line from a poem by Robert Frost: ¹
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Our road as Christian Scientists may be less travelled, but it is so needed in today’s world. If you didn’t have a chance to hear Lona’s talk (or even if you did!), be sure to click on the link to the left to enjoy and be inspired.
A few weeks ago, you should have received a letter from our Board of Trustees
outlining a research and discovery process currently underway at HRH. Some elements include:
- An evaluation of our current location and possible future alternatives
- Strengthening our ability to meet needs through an expanded visiting CS nursing program
- Restructuring our organization and reducing overhead
We are watching how divine Mind unfolds these ideas, whether on well-travelled roads or on new ones. We have had many internal discussions on these topics and now we would like to invite you to join us. Over the next two months, we expect to come to a location near you to explore these ideas together. Please join us at one of the 90-minute Community Dialogues listed to the left. We'll be sending some background material prior to the event, so please let us know that you're coming by clicking on the link below.
This is a time of change at High Ridge House, and your help is needed. Together, we can help chart the road for Christian Science nursing in the Tri-State region for years to come. Together, we can help ensure a vital institution for Christian Science nursing thrives. Together, we can continue making a difference.
You can begin right away to help us to plan the future of High Ridge House by clicking here to sign up
for a Community Dialogue. We look forward to seeing you!
