We are so pleased to share the news that the High Ridge House Board of Trustees appointed Marivic B. Mabanag as its new Executive Director/Administrator (ED). Marivic assumed her new position on July 25, 2016. She is already known to many of you since she served for three years as our Development Director, and she will continue to be actively involved in development efforts for High Ridge House (HRH). We are grateful she has accepted our invitation to serve in this new expanded role.
Outgoing ED Virginia Hughes requested to step down from that position to return to one that allows her to divide her work time between HRH in New York City and the Boston area where she lives with her husband Brad. She has accepted the new Assistant Administrator position in which she will focus on resolving Medicare issues affecting HRH, business administration, and assisting with quality improvement and development activities. We appreciate all Virginia has done over the past seven months to help us through our management transition period.
For her new role, Marivic brings 30 years experience working in the public, nonprofit and private sectors. Her passion and energy are fueled by her love for and dedication to Christian Science. Having experienced the healing impact of Christian Science nursing as a patient at one of our sister facilities, she is grateful to be serving at High Ridge House. Marivic noted, “It was at High Ridge House where I was awakened to the importance of supporting our Christian Science nursing facilities with our prayers and financial support. I am honored to help High Ridge House in its next stage of growth and progress.”
Marivic is a member of Eighth Church NYC and serves on its Board of Trustees. She is a Regional Ambassador of The Albert Baker Fund and serves on The Principle Foundation’s Tri-State Committee. She is married to John Quincy Adams III, CSB and they make their home in New York City.
As The Mother Church President Willis F. Gross, CSB once noted,
“Friends, our progress may be fast or it may be slow, but one thing is certain, it will be sure, if we are obedient to the loving counsel of our ever faithful Leader [Mary Baker Eddy].” (The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany, pg. 44:7-9)
We are grateful for your continued support of Christian Science nursing at High Ridge House.
