Update from IHP

October 2020

Dear ,

2020 has been full of challenges, with COVID-19 making it abundantly clear that the world needs strong health systems.

Whilst much of the world has been forced to slow down due to COVID-19, at IHP it’s been an enormously busy year. Working closely with donors, funders, in-country partners and supporters, we have sent 68 pallets of medicine and health supplies in 52 shipments so far this year, which equates to 4.6 million treatments to 34 countries. As we continue to respond to the needs of people with little or no access to healthcare, we’re grateful for your ongoing support. #Partnershipworks

Over 175,000 treatments shipped to Lebanon

The huge explosion of August 4 that shook Beirut in Lebanon has plunged this already struggling country further into crisis. So far, we’ve responded with seven emergency shipments and we’re continuing to work with our in-country partners to provide critical care to those in need. Essential Health Packs bring help to patients in DRC

IHP is continuing to ship essential medicines and health supplies to ensure patients across the world are able to access life-saving treatments, as health systems continue to struggle in the fight against Covid-19. Utilising a recent shipment of 18 IHP Essential Health Packs, Panzi Foundation in the Democratic Republic of Congo were able to help patients like Lukusa in their time of need.

IHP supporter completes amazing achievement

Sharlene Phillips signed up last year to run the London Marathon on our behalf. The race in April was cancelled, but this month she joined a band of ‘virtual marathon runners’, creating a local route through forests and muddy puddles.

She shaved an impressive 25 minutes off her personal best and has raised a brilliant £3,000 for us in sponsorship. “IHP makes a massive impact - it’s an awesome charity and I feel very privileged to support it,” she says.

Thanks for everything Sharlene!
