ALL ARE INVITED to join Main Street's community builder and fundraiser, Flapjacks & FriendsHundreds will gather under big tents for a festive and FREE street party. We'll serve delicious flapjacks and enjoy live entertainment performed by children and adults of all abilities.
Flapjacks & Friends is Main Street's big fundraiser for the year as we grow our inclusive community. We need your help!  Funds received from donations and sponsorships will support our operational budget for 2019-2020.

Main Street Coffee Shop News 
Dawson's Market logoWe are very happy to announce that the coffee shop located at the front of the Main Street building will operated and managed by Rockville's very own Dawson's Market!
Dawson's commitment to community and employment of individuals with special needs makes this a perfect partnership with Main Street.
We can't wait to gather with friends over coffee in this great new spot! An official coffee shop name will be announced soon.

New Member to Member Yahoo Group! 
In response to requests for members to connect about topics such as housing, seeking roommates, sharing resources, etc., we have set up a temporary Yahoo Group e-mail list called Main Street Member Connect. When our building opens, we will launch a new membership program and will have new software that includes user-friendly options for member to member communication. Until then, we hope this Yahoo Group will be helpful.
Current Main Street members may follow these steps to subscribe to the e-mail list:
  • Send an e-mail to this e-mail address:
    mainstreetmemberconnect-subscribe@yahoogroups.comIt is not necessary to write anything in the subject or body of the e-mail.
  • You will receive an e-mail from Yahoo asking you to confirm that you want to subscribe. Follow the instructions in the e-mail to confirm your request. (If you don't get a message from Yahoo right away, check your spam folder or wait a bit as it can take some time to arrive.)
  • Main Street will receive a message indicating that you want to subscribe. We will confirm you are a current Main Street member and approve your request to subscribe.
  • You will receive an e-mail from Yahoo indicating that your request to subscribe has been approved. (Check your spam folder if you don't see this e-mail in your inbox.)

A fun group gathered on August 13th at the Copeland home for a perfect summer evening of swimming, food and friends. We were happy to welcome some new faces!

Outdoor Movie
On August 31st, more than 20 Main Street members gathered at the Strathmore Bel Pre Pool to visit and view Incredibles 2. The movie was great and snacks were enjoyed. Many thanks to member John Bogasky and the Bel Pre Recreational Association for welcomng Main Street members to this event!

Improv Class Series & Open Mic Night with ArtStream

7:00 - 8:30 pm
Main Street is collaborating with ArtStream to offer a series of improv classes, culminating in an on-stage performance. Students will inspire each other to create unique performance pieces. This class is open to non-members on a space available basis. Limited aid is available for members with financial need.  MORE INFO AND REGISTER HERE

Construction Update 
New Walls at Main Street Building

We have walls! Walls provide strength and shelter. These Main Street walls also offer support and inclusivity! We're very excited to see them go up.

Professional Member Spotlight 
Bart Yablonsky, Owner of Dawson's
Bart Yablonsky
Bart Yablonsky has a passion for the environment, community and a healthy lifestyle. He is owner of Dawson’s Market, a natural foods grocery store in Rockville Town Square. Their mission is to be the heart and soul of the community through great food, drink and programs. 
Dawson’s is also committed to hiring individuals with special needs and those who find it hard to find rewarding employment Dawson's Barfor other reasons. Their goal is that at least 10% of their staff falls into one of these categories. Dawson’s welcomes local organizations who support special individuals to use the store as a meeting place and a learning space. Dawson’s supports many non-profit organizations with donations, community nights and 5% Days.
Bart was General Manager when Dawson's opened in 2012 and  has been the owner since December 2018. He is married to Paige and they have a wonderful son. 
Dawson's MarketThe name “Dawson’s Market” was born from one of the most influential farming families in what is now Montgomery County. The Dawsons paved the way for local agriculture and natural living in the Rockville community.
