COST:  $75 ($60 for Main Street members)

With over 480 registrants and more than 80 sponsors, we have moved Main Street's EXTRAORDINARY luncheon to a larger venue - the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. This will be a wonderful opportunity to spread the Main Street movement and to help make Main Street a reality!  Please invite friends and colleagues and/or become a luncheon sponsor

Main Street Member Events
 
We are so grateful for our Main Street members who are creating a strong and inclusive community long before the doors of the Main Street building open! In June, we will be asking individual/family members who joined before November 1, 2017, to renew their membership. Membership options are: 
  • Individual:  $50
  • Family:  $100
  • Young Adult (under 30):  $25
Membership entitles you to receive regular project updates, participate in a range of fun and meaningful member events and to be a part of the groundbreaking Main Street movement!

How and Why to Talk to Your Child about their Autism
Tuesday, May 8, 7 - 9 PM 
Learn about the importance of talking with your child or loved one about their differences and diagnosis and about resources to guide your initial discussion (especially if your child is older), possible responses and ongoing support focusing on strengths. Register here
 
The Impact of Autism on Success in a Traditional Classroom
Thursday, May 24, 7 - 9 PM
Learn about the complex impact that autism has on learning in a traditional classroom environment. Participants will understand some of the challenges of navigating the complexities of standard curricula, despite strong basic cognition. In addition, the speakers will provide solutions to make classrooms and homes more “neurodiverse friendly” and to support areas of challenge for autistic learners. Register here

Moving Screening on Anxiety
at Fusion Academy Rockville 
 
“Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety”

Angst is 55-minute documentary that looks at anxiety, its causes and effects and what we can do about it. The film features interviews with kids and young adults impacted by anxiety and what they have learned, plus tips from anxiety experts. Discussion by Dr. Lindsay Scharfstein from The Center for Anxiety and Behavioral Change to follow the film. Free and open to the community! Seating is limited and RSVP is required. Questions?
