Help for financially disadvantaged families
Social Animals Group
Come join the Social Animals Group for adults with intellectual disabilities (ages 18+). This is a fun time to meet others, build friendships, play games and other activities, and pizza will be served!
Social Animals Group will be the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Family Services Center (1200 S. Broad Street) from 6:30-8:30pm. Attendance Fee is $5.00.

Walk in the Park & Jamboree
Mark your calendars for the Walk in the Park & Jamboree hosted by Horizons Residential Care Center on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 from 9:00am-1:00pm. The fun-filled day will include a Fun Walk at Horizons Park, Food Trucks, Vendors, Family Games, Music, Prizes, and lots more! Event will take place at Horizons Residential Care Center, 100 Horizons Lane, Rural Hall, NC 27045. Special Olympics Fundraiser
Cops vs. Docs Hockey
When: Saturday, March 10th
Time: 7:00-10:30pm
Where: Carolina Thunderbirds Ice Hockey Arena at the Winston-Salem Fairground Annex building, 414 Deacon Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Special Olympics Athletes can get in for free by wearing their medals! Tickets will be on sale for $5 and all proceeds go to benefit Special Olympics.

Triple P Stepping Stones Seminars
Free Parenting Seminars for families that have children with special needs between 2-5 years (dinner and childcare included, RSVP required)
TIME: Dinner served at 5:30, and seminar and childcare will be from 6:00-7:30.

March 13th - Helping your child reach their potential Find out ways to encourage them to be respectful and considerate, communicate and get on well with others, feel good about themselves and become independent problem solvers.
March 27th - Changing problem behavior into positive behavior Get the strategies that will allow them to recognize positive and negative emotions – and deal with them in a healthy way.

TRIPLE P Small Group Parenting Series
For parents of children 2-5 years with special needs
Reservations are now being taken for our TRIPLE P SMALL GROUP.  In this series, parents will learn strategies that have proven to be effective for children with special needs.  Space will be limited to 14 parents and child care is provided.  The series is comprised of 6 group meetings and 3 one-on-one consults with an instructor. 
Meetings are scheduled for Saturday mornings April 21-May 19 (9:00-11:30) with a final meeting on morning of June 16, 2018.  The deadline for registration will be April 11th. Call Family Support Network at 336-703-4289 to register.

Can you help us make a connection?
The Family Support Network of Greater Forsyth provides two outreach events a month to serve dinner to families who have infants and children in our local hospital Intensive Care Units. We are currently looking for groups who are interested in providing volunteers and food for an event in 2018 (average attendance is about 30).
