Rock & Stroll set for Saturday, Sept. 22nd
We are expanding our 7th Annual Family Fun Walk to include a music festival.  Rock & Stroll is an all-day event beginning with a 2-mile stroll on the historic Savin Rock Boardwalk including fun activities along the walk route. 
The walk is followed by a music festival, in collaboration with Rock House School of Musicfeaturing a large variety of bands and musicians.

New Board Leadership
Ken Prisco, outgoing president, announced the 2018-19 fiscal year executive board of directors incoming president, Bill Heffernan, III; first vice president, Katie Heffernan-Farrell, second vice president John F. Onofrio; treasurer, James Turcio, secretary Jay Brennan, and assistant secretary, Gene Sullivan. Also, four new board members were inducted including Elizabeth Johnston, John Lewis; Edward O’Brien, former West Haven Mayor; and Pamela O’Neill.  Read more here.
A Brand New Start for Preschoolers
September is always a lively time of year at the Community House. Head Start teachers are getting their classrooms ready for the new school year, parents are navigating the parking lot, 144 preschool children ages 3- to- 4-years-old are excited to learn and play with new friends.

Summer Program Concludes
Children and staff took to the road and embarked on a journey of discovery, fun learning experiences and friendship.
The 7-week program afforded 54 children the opportunity to explore a rich variety of nature, cultural, historic, engineering, technological and scientific venues.
Field trips included Ansonia Nature Center, Stamford Nature Center and Maltby Lakes, Hartford Science Center, Discovery Museum, Norwalk Aquarium, Lighthouse Park, Mashantucket Pequot Museum, The Bronx Zoo and more.

Rib Rally - 9/13
We are having a Rib Rally at Texas Roadhouse on Thursday, September 13th.

A Time To Shine
The Community House played host to an evening of entertainment presented by STEP Associates LLC. 
The annual event “Oscar Dance Party 2!” not only consisted of a dance party but also the presentation of “STONE”, STEP Associate’s second originally written and produced play. 
“Art Expressions” is a social and leisure program of STEP Associates, which is co-founded by Davaul and LaTonya Tillman Amin.  Davaul is an employee of the WHCH’s Community Connections program.
