To our valued St Bart's community,

This is a difficult time for everybody and we want to assure you that St Bart’s is taking every precaution to minimise risks to our consumers, employees and volunteers from the coronavirus (COVID-19).

St Bart’s provides services to some of the most vulnerable people in our society. We will continue to provide these essential services – if we don’t our consumers face the possibility of re-entering homelessness and at an increased risk of harm.

Providers from across Western Australia are meeting regularly to discuss the current and future impact of COVID-19 on their services and their clients. Community support services are already at full capacity with services stretched.

The immediate focus is on the urgent need for access to housing and accommodation for people who are sleeping rough and in shared accommodation to self-isolate. The sector is calling on the State Government to support business continuity and targeted, safe outreach services to people sleeping rough and for housing and service support.

While we know this is a time of economic uncertainty for all, we are asking our valued St Bart’s supporters to continue to provide donations if you are in a position to, to help us support our consumers - most of whom do not have family and friends to provide support at this very challenging time.

Please note the following changes that have been implemented across our services:
  • All large group volunteer activities, including our own Café Lime, are suspended until 1st May 2020
  • Employee travel between St Bart’s sites has been limited to avoid infection
  • Cleaning/infection control has increased to ensure common areas are clean
  • Technology is being implemented to allow virtual team meetings
  • Additional COVID-19 related hygiene training and recommended reading is now available for employees to access
