 Cottage Report
featuring Greene Cottage written by James McGill

The month of November was probably the most interesting month yet. Basketball has been very exciting. We have two of the best coaches and we have some of the best players on the team now! The best thing is experiencing the team beginning to have chemistry and really play as a team now. Another thing I am happy about is how well the cottage I live in is doing. We are all passing our classes with high grades. Hopefully we will win the Christmas decorating contest! We are determined to win this year. I am very excited to go home for Christmas. I miss my family and seeing them might be the best thing in December!

A Note from Chaplain Anne Grizzle:
Music That Makes Community

Pictured left to right:
The Reverend Deborah Hunley, Richard Fife, Darla Schumm, and Jenny Fife

Music that Makes Community is part of Southwestern Virginia Diocesan efforts to build a beloved community. Four Episcopal singers came to Boys Home and taught simple songs through demonstration, listening, and repetition in a way that everyone was able to easily sing and enjoy making music together. A group of students were quick to begin singing along, as well as drumming and even sharing their own songs!

Boys Home thanks Deborah Hunley, Darla Schumm, and Jenny and Richard Fife for coming and sharing their talent with our students. We look forward to introducing more of this style of paperless music in Chapel and even during informal singing moments!

Merry Christmas from Boys Home of Virginia!

May your Holidays be filled with joy, peace, love, and happiness. We are so grateful for all of your support throughout 2018. Prayers for a healthy 2019.

 How Can I Help?

If your congregation would like a visit from Boys Home, please contact Lauren at LHanna@boyshomeofva.org and we will work to set it up. We look forward to visiting as many parishes as possible to share the Boys Home story.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
