Chat & Snack
We are looking for sponsor groups to serve dinner to families who have children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at both Brenner and Forsyth. This involves providing dinner for approximately 35 people and sending 2-3 volunteers to help serve. Call the Family Support office for available dates 336-703-4289.

3-2-1 Deacon Dash for Down Syndrome
We are excited about our upcoming 3-2-1 Deacon Dash for Down Syndrome on March 30, 2019 at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. We hope to see you out at the event as we run/walk to support individuals with Down syndrome in the Greater Winston-Salem area. 
 
Special Hockey with Winston-Salem Youth Hockey Association
The Special Hockey program is open to skaters age 3-18 with physical and developmental disabilities. The Special Hockey Program offers an opportunity for players with disabilities to play ice hockey in an environment that is adaptable to the skaters’ abilities. Social Animals Group:
Celebrating Adult Neurodiversity
Group meets on the third Wednesday of each month, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This social group meets in Winston-Salem to give individuals 18 years and older with developmental disabilities an opportunity to meet other adults like them. Click HERE for details.

Stepping Stones Parenting Institute
Starts April 13!

STEPPING STONES PARENTING INSTITUTE - an in depth look at how you parent a child with special needs.  This parenting curriculum of 6 sessions will be offered on 3 Saturdays from 9-2 with lunch included.  Child care is not provided but incentives to offset the cost of child care will be provided.  If you are interested in learning proven strategies to teach or change behaviors, this is the course for you!  This is a small group format with limited space.  Participants must commit to all three parts on April 13th, April 27th and May 18th (Saturdays). Autism Spectrum Disorder and Mental Health Study
A Master's student at Wake Forest University is completing a project exploring co-occurring symptoms in children with autism, and the impact those symptoms have on home and family life.  She is seeking parents who have a child aged 5-12 with an ASD diagnosis, and would be willing to take a 10-15 minute survey about their child and family's experience.  Thank you for considering helping with this work! The survey can be accessed at the following link:  https://tinyurl.com/ya4ywcbr

Northwest Forsyth American Little League
Challenger Baseball
It’s Challenger Baseball season at Northwest Forsyth American Little League. Challenger baseball is for individuals who have a physical or intellectual challenge ages 4 to 18 (up to 22 if still in high school). Our season will begin on Saturday, March 23rd with an awesome opening day festivities. Our first game will be on Saturday, March 30th at 10am!  Our games are played on Saturdays at 10am. We are done at 11am with snack following for players. Our dates for games are March 30, April 6, 13, 27, May 4, 11, 18.  
 
Challenger baseball is free to players and we ask that players register at https://www.nwfall.org/Default.aspx?tabid=801710 to help us best plan.  Registration is open all season.
