Across the nation, kids from the lowest-income homes are more than three times as likely to be physically inactive. This means the more than 25% of Oregon children who live below the poverty line are less likely to gain the health, physical fitness, confidence, problem solving and leadership benefits from playing team sports.
Thanks to matching funds, this #GivingTuesday your donation to Off the Sideline will be doubled up to $500. This means that you help kids like the fifth-grade Hayhurst Elementary girls volleyball team and Kelly Elementary basketball teams play sports for the first time. Or the Roosevelt Youth middle-schoolers attend the Oregon Track & Field State Championships.
We believe all kids deserve to benefit from the social and health advantages of team-sports participation. Your gifts help us get and keep kids in the game.
