Join us as we head back to the groovy 70’s for this FREE camp for girls ages 12-19 with lupus or other mixed connective tissue diseases. Learn how to manage your lupus while making new friends who share your health challenges. Campers may bring one friend.
 
Our camp counselors have lots of fun activities planned including banana boat rides, crafts, team building games, and of course s’mores.  We also have nurses on staff to help with medications and health concerns.

Lupus Locks - A Deep Dive Into Hair & Scalp Issues in Lupus
Research has shown that black women develop lupus at a younger age with more life-threatening complications. For these reasons, it's crucial to continue raising awareness and educating the black community about the signs and symptoms of lupus.
 
Of the many challenges with lupus, changes with your hair and scalp are some of the most difficult to cope with for many women, and even men with lupus. In the black community, one's hair is often considered a crowning glory - but what happens when lupus robs you of that? Throughout Black History Month, stay tuned to our Facebook Page as we hear from warriors and hair and health experts about the impact of lupus on their hair and/ or scalp as well as tips for treatment and management.

The 2020 National Lupus Advocacy Summit will be held from March 15-17, 2020 at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC. Join hundreds of lupus advocates from across the country and urge your members of Congress to support funding for lupus research and policies to improve the lives of everyone living with this disease.
 
 
Benlysta Trial for Lupus Nephritis Hits All Endpoints
GSK announced positive headline results for a two-year clinical trial of Benlysta® (belimumab) for treating lupus-related kidney disease. The phase 3 study met all of its designated endpoints while demonstrating a favorable safety profile. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has already approved Benlysta for use in treating mild to moderate lupus. This new trial specifically examined its effectiveness for treating lupus-related kidney disease.
