The 2019 General Assembly session began on January 9, 2019 and is officially underway. The Virginia House of Delegates and Senate are moving forward in a short, 45-day session. Numerous bills have been introduced that address Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Addiction. SAARA of Virginia is tracking bills of interest daily. Click here for a copy of SAARA’s 2019 bill chart and positions.
As you can see from the bill chart, 2019 is a busy year for SUD legislation and SAARA grassroots advocacy! SAARA’s bill chart will be updated weekly and action alerts will be sent as the legislative process unfolds.
In 2019, legislators are receiving a copy of SAARA’s new fact sheet with infographics. The fact sheet emphasizes the magnitude of SUD and Addiction in the Commonwealth and offers SAARA as a resource to answer questions and address issues of concern. Get a copy of SAARA’s latest fact sheet here.
SAARA sends a GREAT BIG Thank You to all advocates for taking action. Lawmakers are listening and grassroots advocacy matters!
Stay tuned…more updates and alerts to follow.
