THANK YOU TO OUR CORPORATE AND INDIVIDUAL DONORS!

On behalf of the board of directors, staff, and facilitators of Growing Up Knowing, thank you for your generous support of our important mission and work during our 2020 end of the year campaign. Every contribution is being used to further our implementation of My Body, My Boundaries and The ‘Tween Talk: Comprehensive Sex Education programs throughout Mississippi. Your donation is helping us reach more families to ensure safety, help adolescents and their families make better and informed life decisions, and prevent child abuse for Mississippi’s youth.

Growing Up Knowing greatly appreciates the partnership of local corporations and civic groups. We are so excited to welcome Atmos Energy and Delta Sigma Theta Jackson Alumnae as Funding Partners for 2021. Thank you for your support!

My Body My Boundaries Is Now Published Research!

Growing Up Knowing's My Body My Boundaries Elementary program was recently published in the Journal of Applied Research on Children. Our research coordinator, Dr. Claire Kimberly has collected data from our My Body My Boundaries program since 2017. She concluded that substantial improvement in parental self-reported knowledge has been found with a pre/post-test. A significant increase was found prior participating in the program in response to parents’ ability to “teach [their] children about identifying and understanding their body parts.

For the responses to the question about their ability to “teach [their] children about safe touch,” a significant increase was found prior participating in the program. In response to their ability to “teach [their] children about which adults to trust,” a noteworthy increase was found prior participating in the program.

Growing Up Knowing wants to continue creating change through our multigenerational approach to bullying and abuse. Every child derserves to grow up knowing the correct facts and be able to effectively communicate with their parents.

Resources for Our Parents

Introducing our new parent resources page! Growing Up Knowing has added a page dedicated to our families. Everything families would receive during an in-person program is now online! We also have family-friendly videos to keep children safe from abuse and bullying.
