The Club is Prepared to Serve Emergency Personnel
|
Over the past two weeks, Boys & Girls Clubs across Rhode Island have been collaborating with the Department of Human Services and the Department of Health to provide childcare for children of essential workers in the community, including first responders and hospital workers. In response to Governor Gina Raimondo’s recent ban on all gatherings of 5 or more, we will be delaying the start of our program which was scheduled to begin on March 30th. Despite the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the safety for both the children and staff in our programs is at the core of our mission, and our goal is that these services will provide peace of mind that their children are in a safe, friendly, and fun environment. With that said, we are confident that our facility and staff are prepared to serve our community as soon as we can.
If you have any questions and to learn more about our Emergency Personnel Childcare Program, please call the Club at 401-722-8840, option 1.

Youth of the Year |
We are delighted to announce that we will continue to host our Youth of the Year Ceremony (but there’s a twist)! With the current restrictions put into place on group gatherings, we have decided to get creative- this year’s ceremony will be held virtually. Our teen candidates have worked earnestly throughout the past few months perfecting their applications and showcasing to fellow members why they believe they should be selected as 2020 Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket Youth of the Year. We look forward to continuing to give our members the opportunity to stand up as leaders for their peers and community.

Staff Spotlight |
Linsey C. Marketing & Development Coordinator
|
Linsey began at the Club almost one year ago and has quickly
become our “go to” expert for all social media and marketing for the Club. In addition to creating all the posts on
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, Linsey is responsible for ensuring that the online
registration processes for various programs are in place and work accurately
and smoothly. Recently, she constructed
and implemented an online childcare registration tool for Lifespan employees
that would have taken months to complete within five days. Linsey, you have attained rock star status in
the Club! Thanks for all your
extraordinary efforts!

Huge Thank You to Club Staff |
We would like to give our staff members a huge thank you for their continued dedication to our Club! Over the past two weeks, they have worked diligently to prepare for the delivery of our Emergency Personnel Childcare Program. Despite any challenges that arose during the planning process, our administrative and program staff remained mission-focused. Planning a new program can take anywhere from a month to several months, and our team worked together to execute this thorough program in a matter of weeks. In addition to preparing for our Emergency Personnel Childcare Program, our staff went above and beyond, to ensure that our members had daily access to our high-quality educational programs while they are out of school. We cannot thank you all enough for everything you do for our Club and members every day!

It’s on “401” and that’s Rhode Island’s area code. Isn’t that clever? To learn more and to donate, please visit: https://www.401gives.org/
