What an exhilarating last couple of weeks it has been! We officially opened in our NEW location at 2225 Freedom Drive with a community grand opening on last Wednesday! We've served a hearty breakfast and lunch to our neighbors and guests, celebrated three new graduates of our Transformation Program and thanked the many donors and friends who supported us for this move. While there were many who came out, we realize that there are others who'd like to come by to visit our new offices. Give us a call at (704) 335-1616, so we can schedule your tour. You can also volunteer to serve breakfast or lunch on Tuesday or Wednesday at http://www.theharvestcenter.org/en-us/volunteer/volunteeropportunities.aspx. Thank you for prayers and support!
Gratefully,

Piedmont Natural Gas Ribbon-Cutting of Isabella's Kitchen
Our friends from Piedmont Natural Gas joined us at the community grand opening to honor our long-time kitchen manager, Isabella Pickett as she cut the ribbon for serving meals this week. Piedmont Natural Gas gave a total of $56,000 to support the upgraded commercial kitchen, which allows the newly named "Isabella's Kitchen" to serve breakfast and lunch to over 800 folks each week. "The Harvest Center provides a critical resource to our community, and Piedmont Natural Gas is proud to support their mission," said Timothy Greenhouse, Managing Director of Community Relations at PNG.

Reid's Fine Foods (Selywn Location) recently hosted an oyster roast benefit for The Harvest Center. The Oysters were roasted, folks from the neighborhood came out and the event yielded over $800 for THC. We appreciate retailers like Reid's Fine Foods for helping us to create community and transform lives! Every donation counts toward our vision to relate, engage and transform. If you or your company would like to be one of our partners, email Sherry Waters - Development Director - at swaters@theharvestcenter.org.

Meet Sahkara Jacobs
THC's New Resource Specialist
When you enter into our new offices, Sahkara Jacobs will be the first face you'll see. Sahkara has been with THC for a month now - answering calls and connecting people with the necessary community resources that provide support for individuals. "It has already been a blessing to be with my new work family. It's the first job that I've actually looked forward to coming in every morning to do," says Sahkara.
