The Harvest Center of Charlotte Enews
August, 2016
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me," (Matthew 25:35)
Dear Sherry
The Harvest Center has recently been blessed by the generosity of an "angel" donor who contributed $25,000 towards our general operating fund. In an effort to expand The Harvest Center's base, this Angel has committed to giving an additional $25K match if THC receives $25K in support from NEW givers this year.  "It's God that gets all of the credit; I'm just a willing and eager person wanting to fulfill the Great Commission," the Angel remarked!

We need your help in meeting this $25,000 match gift!  Here's what you can do:
1.  Make your financial contribution today.
2.  If you've given already, invite a new friend of THC to
     give.
3.  Become a "Harvest Helper" by partnering to be a
     monthly sustaining donor

Our donors and volunteers are the lifeblood of The Harvest Center, and we thank you in advance for your support! If you've watched this ministry grow, trying to decide when to get involved... NOW is the time! Click here to DONATE

In Christ,

Mike Excited about Permanent Job at Snyder's Lance
Mike Suber never complained while working seven days a week from 6 am to 6 pm as a temp at Synder's-Lance.  As a 2014 Transformation Program graduate, Mike was thrilled to have a job and hoped to one day become a permanent employee.  He persevered through the program at THC because he wanted to "stay clean and move closer in his relationship with God." The housing program enabled him to build some stability while working as a temp until his recent promotion to a full time employee!  The Transformation Program is a one of a kind intensive personal development program, which enables formerly homeless individuals to become self-sufficient.  Applications for the newest class of participants are being accepted now.  Call (704) 335-1616 for more information.

We Walk Together - 3.4 miler Raises awareness for
The Harvest Center
Join Us Next Monday!!
The Harvest Center is pleased to be a part of the walking conversation by a local advocacy group - We Walk Together.  We Walk Together is an open group of residents who walk to support peace, progress, unity and better dialog and understanding throughout our city. In preparation for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness month in November, they are hoping to plant the seed early with a 3.4 mile walk on Monday, August 15th.  The round trip walk will begin at THC, located at 2225 Freedom Drive, at 8:30 am and will travel to The United House of Prayer off of Mint Street and back. The group plans to volunteer and serve at THC on Sunday, October 30th. Anyone is welcome! To learn more, call Catherine Armstrong at (704) 517-5744.

Behavioral Health Provider Serves as Beneficial Partner
Continuum Care Services Helps Bridge the Gap
Article Image"From the first moment I walked into The Harvest Center with our CEO, my life changed because it was at that moment that I witnessed people being free to help others. They genuinely care," says Ebonique Morman, the Administrative Director of Continuum Care Services, Inc. The outpatient behavioral health provider serves Mecklenburg and surrounding counties in learning to live well with mental illness and substance abuse problems. The agency shares that THC's Transformation Program provides the balance of sharing stories and incorporating God into what they do in making positive change in people's lives.  They have already donated over $10,000 worth of counseling services to THC this year!  THC relies on partnerships like this one to assist in the wholistic wellness of our program participants.
