Job Posting - Education and Communication Coordinator (Maternity Leave)
The Creston Valley Wildlife Management Authority is looking for an energetic and dedicated individual to fill the Education and Communication Coordinator position for one year (maternity leave).
As a member of the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area (CVWMA) Team, you will be responsible for the operation of the Wildlife Interpretation Centre, the delivery of communications, and promoting the CVWMA.

Royal BC Museum - Species at Risk Travelling Exhibit Coming to the Wildlife Centre July 25-27
The Royal BC Museum's Species at Risk travelling exhibit is coming to the Wildlife Centre July 25-27.
BC is known for its spectacular nature, but there is little awareness of the many species under threat.  A hands on program, Species at Risk, from the new travelling exhibit from the Royal BC Musuem, looks at why certain species are at risk, what their loss could mean and how you can help.

Nature Movie Nights

We will screen a nature/wildlife related movie in the Wildlife Centre theatre...a different movies each time and appealing to all ages.  We will have popcorn!

Time: 7pm – 9pm
Cost: $2 per person

August 5 & 19 - Evening Prowl
Join us as we prowl around the wetland in search of nighttime activity...from bats to bugs to birds, who know what you might see!  Please bring a flashlight.  We will be walking the Marsh Trail Loop (3km).

Time: 8 pm - 10 pm
Cost: $5 per person
August 13 - Sunrise Paddle
Glide through the ponds and channels in the early morning light on a Naturalist guided canoe tour. Watch the wetland come alive!
Time: 7 am to 9 am
Cost: $12; Free for Members

August 21 - Bird House and/or Feeder Building Workshop
Come and build a bird house and/or feeder that you can proudly display outside.  You must pre-register for this event.  Call (250) 402 6908
Time: 1 pm - 4 pm
Cost: $15 per house/feeder
Bear Fair - August 20th at Wildlife Centre
There will be a Bear Fair at the Wildlife Centre on Saturday August 20th.  Michael Proctor, Grizzly Bear researcher, will be on site to deliver presentations and information; Conservation Officers will demo bear spray usage; WildSafe BC will have a booth with great inforamtion and there will be an electric fencing demo...plus kids games, concession and more!

Last Day for Canoe Tours is September 3rd
If you are interested in getting out on one of our guided canoe tours, you have until September 3rd to do so!  We offer the tours, which last one hour, 4 times daily when open (@ 9:30, 10:30, 1 and 2).  We recommend booking ahead to ensure availability!  Call us at (250) 402 6908.
