 2015

The first newsletter is here! Seems fitting that it should come at the end of the year – a time of reflection to look back on all the things we’ve accomplished. It is hard to believe how far we’ve come since April when Off the Sideline was just a twinkle in my eye. I want to highlight a few of our biggest milestones and give you a head’s up as to our big plans for 2016.
Look at How Far We've Come!
In the last 9 months we've:
  • Received 501(c)(3) status – all donations are tax-deductible!
  • Recruited 4 amazing Board members – check out the talent on our webpage
  • Gotten our website and social media up and going – you can like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram and Twitter
  • Met 88% of our fundraising goal through our GoFundMe campaign
  • Established partnerships with Volunteers of America and Oregon Healthiest State

I’m so excited about the progress we’ve made and I hope you are too.
Big Things to Come in 2016
Scholarships are starting
Article ImageIn early 2016 we’ll be launching our pilot with Volunteers of America to serve at least 10 kids living in public housing in N/NE Portland and East Multnomah County through their Youth Prevention Services Program.

Participation in team sports is a great way to bring these young people new opportunities and interactions with positive adult role models – two important elements in countering the many risk factors they face.

Have a happy and healthy holiday season and thanks again for your support.
In gratitude,

Leslie Mestman, Founder
