BCB is Expanding!

Thanks to a generous grant from the Linda Neville, combined with the continued support of the Lexington Lions Club, BCB will be moving our offices to the suites on the opposite side of our community room, previously occupied by Independence Place.

We were excited to acquire the 800 square foot community room in September, and look forward to expanding our offices to include additional space for our Assistive Technology Access Center, as well as having a full kitchen now available for Independent Living training.

You will still find us at 1093 South Broadway, but our suite number and main entrance will be Suite 1218. We apologize for any inconvenience or disruption in services as we make our transition next door. We plan to have this process complete by April 1st, 2016.

Won't You Let Me Take You on a SEE Cruise

Bluegrass Council of the Blind’s 4th annual fundraising event, the 2016 SEE Cruise will be Sunday, April 10th at Banner’s (formerly Southside Pub) from 5pm to 9pm! Set sail with BCB and Captain Bill Meck (LEX18 Chief Meteorologist) to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and relax with great friends, delicious food, cool drinks, and live music.

Jump in de Line with Conch Republic, a high-energy Trop Rock band, covering artists like the Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffett, and Zac Brown. We’ll have raffles throughout the night and a silent auction! Expect great raffle prizes and auction items provided by Big Ass Fans, West Sixth Brewing, Lexington Legends, Blue Stallion Brewing, Holiday World, Jim Beam, Wildcat Wearhouse, Talon Winery, Hilton Lexington/Downtown, and so many more!

A Reminder from LFUCG Office of Homelessness Prevention and Intervention

Any time temperatures fall consistently below freezing (32 degrees) the Office of Homelessness Winter Weather Plan is activated. Emergency shelters lift restrictions and accept any eligible person in need with only a few exceptions.

Citizens can report someone in need of a ride to shelter by calling or texting the Compassionate Caravan ColdLine at 859-913-0038. Local emergency shelters are able to make room for anyone in need so please make sure everyone willing and able to seek shelter gets to a warm, dry location.
